The short: 

This modern-day drama, inspired by several historical events, focuses on a couple as they journey across Occupied Palestine to finalize their divorce.

The long:

Salma, born in Nazareth and Tamer, the son of a revolutionary killed in Beirut, decide to file for divorce after their five-year marriage in Occupied Palestine. After the court’s clerk refuses to process the divorce, he reveals some information about Tamer’s father’s past. The couple is only given a 72 hour permit to finalize the divorce documents and their journey continues to reveal more about their present and past.

The watch or not to watch:

Watch! I enjoyed the simplicity of the film's visuals as the couple embarks on a stressful journey, as they collect information they face learning familial history and secrets of the past. As they travel towards divorce, you learn that the couple’s issues stem from unresolved communication issues. As the couple navigates their relationship, roadblocks and checkpoints, it becomes apparent that the two symbolize the emotional and complex tie between Lebanon and Palestine.
