Civilizations in Review: Ayyubid Sultanate

Civilizations in Review.png

Lasting less than a full century, the Ayyubid Sultanate made quite a splash in the history of the MENA region. An empire built of military conquest, the Ayyubids greatly increased their landmass while also focusing and emphasizing on the arts, literature, and architecture of the many madrasas still standing today. Thank you to Olivia Charendoff for sharing about this fascinating empire, especially about the role of women throughout the dynasty.
