Real Arabic Podcast by Amer Alrafeee and Keire Murphy
Review by: Grace Landsberg
The short
Keire and Amer team up to talk about current, relevant social and political topics, offering an Arabic-English resource in spoken dialect rather than MSA.
The long
Amer and Keire met in Beirut and created Real Arabic with the goal of providing Arabic language learners with a reliable resource in spoken dialect. Real Arabic starts with some history, moves on to current issues that you might see on the front pages of the news today, and includes stories from people around the Middle East. All of the episodes are accompanied by an English-to-Arabic transcript on the website. The podcast can also be supported on Patreon, and listeners can even sign up for 1:1 Skype classes with Amer to work on their conversational skills.
To listen or not to listen?
Relevant MENA topics, a native speaker with experience teaching English-Arabic, and an adorable Irish accent? What’s not to love?!
