Secrets of the Saqqara Tomb

Review by Mark Stanfield

The short:

Secrets of the Saqqara Tomb is a 2020 documentary film about a 4400-year-old tomb that was recently explored in Egypt.

The long:

This is not just a historical find and archaeological piece, but rather you get a close look at Egyptian governmental and social processes/values with respect to such ancient sites.  A fascinating story, and one which also gives brief glimpses at the lives of archaeologists, researchers, and site workers.

To watch or not to watch:

Watch, but only if history or architecture is among your interests! You might be surprised to know just how much investment and importance the Egyptian government places in such historic sites, based on their social and cultural significance.
