Review by Tania Valdés

The Short

Gordon’s compelling novel recreates the 11th century so powerfully that the reader is propelled through its several hundred pages by a tidal wave of imagination and authentic detail.

The Long

In the 11th century, Rob Cole left poor, disease-ridden London to make his way across the land, peddling cures to the sick and discovering the mystical ways of healing. It was on his travels that he found his own very real gift for healing, a gift that urged him on to become a doctor. He then follows his dreams by going on a long journey to Persia, to its universities where he would undertake a transformation that would shape his destiny forever.

To read or not to read?

Must read! It is a classic bestseller that has been turned into a movie.
