The short:

A film from Mohammad Rasoulof concerning the death penalty in Iran.

The long:
The film scooped up the coveted Golden Bear award at the 2020 Berlin International Film Festival, although Rasoulof was unable to leave Iran to attend the festival due to a government-imposed travel ban. Director Mohammad Rasoulof was served with a lifetime ban on filmmaking in 2017 following the premiere of his previous film, A Man of Integrity. Rather than being silenced, he created There Is No Evil which examines the impact of Iran's death penalty on society and everyday citizens.

To watch or not to watch?

To watch. This is a revolutionary film that was recorded secretly, the film is banned from being shown in Iran. Rasoulof explained that the film is about "people taking responsibility" for their actions and that each story "is based on my own experience".
