ALODIA
Alodia is an ancient civilization which existed from approximately 500-1500 CE. The civilization was in what is now present-day central and southern Sudan. It was one of the three Nubian kingdoms and consequently spoke the languages of Nubian and Greek. Like its fellow Nubian kingdoms, Alodia was a Christian nation, and is best known for its capital city Soba, which was a trading hub that sat at the confluence of the White and Blue Nile Rivers. The kingdom was bordered by the decline of the Meroë people and the subsequent rise and fall of the Funji people.
