IDRISID
The Idrisid civilization is widely regarded as the first Alawite Hashemite state in Islamic history. The Idrisid State’s legacy is attributed to its founder, Idris bin Abdullah bin Hassan bin al-Hassan bin Ali bin Abi Talib, who fled to Egypt with his master, Rashid, and then ultimately fled to Morocco. Their flight was in an effort to escape from the Abbasid Empire after the Abbasids leadership effectively squashed Hussein bin Ali bin al-Hassan’s revolution in the Battle of Trap. The Idrisids were one of the very first independent Islamic dynasties in the Maghreb region from 788 CE through 974 CE.
