IRAN
The Islamic Republic of Iran, once known as Persia, is one of the oldest civilizations in the world with settlements and communities dating back to 4,000 BCE. Iranians distinctly refer to themselves as Persians and not Arabs due to their long and extensive history, most notably the massive Persian Empire. The ancient Persians gave the world the first official concept of establishing human rights in the form of the Cyrus Cylinder, which was created in 534 BCE. Today, Iran has a population of a little over 84 million people. It is the largest Shia-majority Muslim nation in the world.
