OMAN

Sitting along the Persian Gulf Oman has long flourished from Indian Ocean trade. Today, Oman has amassed sizable wealth through the sale of energy resources. Oman is the world’s only Ibadi Muslim majority country, using the Gulf (Khaleeji) Dialect of Arabic. Oman has a unique culture compared to its neighbors and although it is a nation of less than five million, Oman still plays an important role in regional geopolitics due to its considerable wealth and influence as a petrostate. In the pursuit of economic diversity, Oman is currently moving away from being solely economically dependent on petroleum and its environmentally detrimental byproducts.
