PALESTINE
Known as the birthplace of Judaism and Christianity, Palestine has a long and tumultuous history. The native occupations of the region, Palestinians, are the descendants of waves of settlers that came to the land over time, intrigued by its fertile soil and pleasant climate. Currently embroiled in a decades-long occupation, Palestinian identity is deeply shaped by resistance and perseverance. As of 2020, the country is home to approximately five million residents, but due to the occupation, many Palestinians live in diaspora. However, many Palestinians living anywhere from the United States to Europe to Lebanon feel a strong sense of national identity.
