The short:

This collection of poems celebrates the voices of individuals who have influenced and inspired her, and encourages others to find inner peace amid the hustle and bustle of life today.

The long:

Nye writes in free verse to share thoughts of hope and inspiration that stem from a greater appreciation of the world around us, past and present. Her subjects range from famous authors to ordinary strangers, as well as aspects of nature and daily life that are often overlooked or underappreciated in the modern day. She aims to bring attention to the beauty and love found around us in a world that has become more focused on technology and less emotionally connected.

To read or not to read:

Read. Nye’s poems describe the world beautifully and is influenced by her mixed Palestinian and American heritage. Many are tinged with sadness, particularly those that discuss the suffering that is part of the human condition, but they also allow the reader to think more deeply and see life in a new way.
